School community service

We help you organise your IKSZ:
for students, teachers and host organisations alike.

School community service can be much more than the compulsory 50 hours required for the school-leaving exam. With proper preparation and supportive host organisations it can become a real experience, learning process and community experience for young people.

KÖZ-Pont Youth Association has been actively working in school community service since its introduction in 2011. In recent years we have taken part in organising several thousand community service activities, and have helped many young people find the place, cause or activity they are glad to connect with.

We believe IKSZ works really well when the student does not just "download the hours" but gains experience, takes responsibility, gets to know new communities, and experiences what it feels like to act for others or for an important cause.

We recommend our IKSZ-related services to schools, municipalities, civil organisations, institutions and organisations hosting community service students alike.

Preparatory sessions – so that everyone can start well prepared!

How does school community service work? What options can young people choose from? What should students, teachers and host organisations pay attention to?

At our preparatory sessions we present the basic framework, operation and practical points of IKSZ, tailored to the participants' needs.

Thanks to our experience gained in hosting thousands of young people doing community service, we not only explain the basics but also share proven methods, practical advice and good examples.

We especially recommend our events for 9th-grade classes, teaching staff, IKSZ coordinators and staff of host organisations.

Sessions can also be held on request at the school, institution or organisation concerned.

Trainings and methodology workshops – knowledge from experience

Successful community service needs not only motivated young people but also well-prepared teachers, host organisations and well-functioning cooperation.

In recent years we have organised and delivered numerous IKSZ-related professional trainings, workshops and methodology discussions.

At these sessions we deal with effectively engaging and motivating young people doing community service, designing suitable tasks, preparing host organisations and developing cooperation between schools and organisations.

We especially recommend our trainings and professional workshops for schools, municipalities, civil organisations and institutions that want to improve their staff's preparedness, organise IKSZ activities more consciously, or strengthen the community service partnerships operating in their locality.

We are also happy to take on professional partnership in delivering community service projects, trainings and methodology programmes.

IKSZ Fairs – where young people and opportunities meet

The aim of IKSZ Fairs is to bring together in one place students looking for community service opportunities and the organisations and institutions that wish to host them.

At these events young people can meet host organisation representatives in person, ask questions, find information, and find the activity that best suits their interests and personality.

In recent years we have organised IKSZ Fairs on many occasions in Debrecen, Budapest, Nyíregyháza, Szolnok and Karcag, and for larger schools we have also carried out in-house fairs.

The fairs also offer a valuable opportunity for host organisations: they can present their activities, address young people directly, build relationships with schools and form new collaborations.

Would you like to organise a municipal or school IKSZ Fair? With our experience and professional and organisational input, we are happy to take part in delivering new events, initiatives and projects.
