Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Student Council
The Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Student Council, JNSZDÖK for short, is a youth community that supports the active participation, community life and interest representation of the county's young people. Our aim is for students to be not only participants but also shapers of their own communities: with their ideas, opinions, programmes and volunteer activities they contribute to the causes of their schools, towns and the county's young people.
In JNSZDÖK young people get the chance to think together, make decisions, organise programmes, grow, and experience what it is like to act responsibly for a community. KÖZ-Pont Youth Association provides the professional, legal and organisational background for operation, and supports the young leaders' work with trainings, community-building occasions and professional support.
The Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Student Council was founded in April 2016 as the third county-level student council community of KÖZ-Pont Youth Association. Its creation opened a new opportunity for the county's young people to connect within an organised framework, represent their interests, and jointly carry out programmes for young people.
The work of JNSZDÖK is supported by a six-member leadership and a multi-member staff. Regular meetings, trainings, team-building occasions and joint planning sessions play an important role in the life of the community, where alongside the work there is always room for caring for each other, a good atmosphere and strengthening the community.
In recent years JNSZDÖK has launched several programmes of its own. These include, for example, the Student Ball, which started in 2019, as well as numerous trainings, community events and volunteer occasions. The young people also took part in delivering several KÖZ-Pont events, for example the programmes of the Run in the Light Sports and Family Day and the Summer Youth Festival.
It has always been important for the community not just to organise programmes but to create value: to help, to connect, and to give young people the chance to experience the power of active participation. In 2020–2021, during the pandemic, JNSZDÖK continued its work online, keeping young people together with playful, community and relaxing programmes.
The story of JNSZDÖK has ever since been about young people being able to think together, take responsibility, create programmes and become active players in their own communities.
