Get to know the people behind KÖZ-Pont's programmes, communities and day-to-day operations.
I got to know student councils as a primary school pupil, and at 18 I joined KÖZ-Pont Youth Association as a volunteer. As a secondary school student I was president of the Association of Student Councils of Hajdú-Bihar County (HABIDISZ) for two years, where I gained a great deal of experience in community building and representing young people. In 2011 I graduated in sports organiser-manager at Perfekt Vocational Secondary School and Vocational School, then continued my studies at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Debrecen. In the 2010/2011 school year I also worked as regional coordinator of the KÖZÖD! Programme in the Northern Great Plain region.
"Sport teaches you to win honestly or to lose with your head held high. So sport teaches everything." (Ernest Hemingway)
I graduated in social work from the University of Debrecen and ELTE. First in 2014, as a university intern, I came into contact with KÖZ-Pont Youth Association. After that I worked as an HR colleague, then as network programme coordinator, and I currently support the organisation's work as vice president of the Association. Earlier I did volunteer tasks and led a youth group at the Debrecen Reformed Great Church congregation. It was there that I truly came to love organising tasks and working with children and young people, which also greatly contributed to my choosing this profession. I like to grow and to develop, and I see the greatest opportunity for both in working for young people. I prefer to spend my free time outdoors with my family and friends.
"Live it!"
I graduated from secondary school in Berettyóújfalu in 2010. As a grammar school student I was already actively involved in the student council and in organising dormitory programmes, and that was when the world of communication really began to interest me. In 2013 I graduated from the University of Debrecen in Communication and Media Studies, specialising as an institutional communicator. After that I worked as an animator and child minder, then went back to school and in 2019 graduated as an early-years educator from the Faculty of Child Education and Adult Learning of the University of Debrecen. I have always liked working in a community. It is important to me to be a useful member of a team and to do creative work that creates value for others too. I have worked at KÖZ-Pont Youth Association since July 2015, and I currently support the organisation's work as vice president.
"Live in such a way that no one notices where you are, but you are greatly missed from where you leave!"
I got to know student councils and the world of civil organisations as a secondary school student. Already then I took an active part in creating several informal youth communities, and in 2001 I took part as a founder in establishing KÖZ-Pont Youth Association. I led the Association as president for eight years, and I currently support the organisation's work as strategic leader. Over the years I have worked in several civil organisations as a volunteer, regional coordinator and programme coordinator. In my work I am proudest of my creativity and problem-solving approach, as these helped many new initiatives and programmes to come to life. Outside KÖZ-Pont I taught at the University of Debrecen for several years, and later I was a visiting lecturer at Medgyessy Ferenc Grammar School and Art Vocational Secondary School in Debrecen. I take an active part in professional work in the youth field at both local and national level. Earlier I was, among other things, a board member of the Nyíregyháza Youth Round Table, president of the Szolnok Youth and Cultural Round Table, a member of the advisory body of the National Youth Council, and co-president of the National Association of Youth Service Providers. I prefer to spend my free time with my family, my wife, my two little sons and my friends. I also like travelling and watching films.
"What we do is only a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop." (Mother Teresa)
As a student of Szolnok College I worked as an intern at a civil organisation that cooperated closely with KÖZ-Pont (then still called the Association for the City Student Council). That was when I got to know the organisation and the world of volunteering more closely. Although I originally trained as an economist, I have never regretted it, as I soon realised that a profession where my work can help others is much closer to me. Since then I have gained qualifications as a special education assistant and rehabilitation dog trainer, and I currently also work at a foundation that trains assistance dogs alongside KÖZ-Pont. I like working in a team, meeting new people and trying new things. And the greatest joy for me is seeing that what I do has real benefit for others. At KÖZ-Pont I started as network programme assistant, later worked as network programme coordinator, and I currently support the Association's day-to-day operation as a member of the presidency.

I was born in Karcag and did my primary and secondary studies here. I am currently studying social work at the University of Debrecen, and in the future I would like to continue my studies in a master's in social policy. Earlier I was already actively involved in the life of KÖZ-Pont Youth Association: I served as a board member of the Karcag City Student Council, and when time allowed I also helped in the Debrecen Civilians volunteer service. Currently I am responsible for coordinating international volunteers and organising their tasks, and as a member of the international working group I take part in delivering various domestic and international projects. I have also taken an active role in several international youth exchange programmes, including two projects supported by the V4 Visegrad Fund in Prague and Miskolc. I like working in a team, and I always strive to build community in the groups I coordinate or belong to. I am particularly concerned with sustainability: I led a youth project that examined different aspects of food waste and possible solutions. I believe that even small steps can start significant social change. In the future I would like to work as a trainer and social policy expert, paying particular attention to supporting disadvantaged young people and those living in poverty. My long-term goal is to create a foundation that serves the catching up and support of people pushed to the margins.
"Never give up! Today is hard, tomorrow will be harder, but the day after tomorrow the sun will shine." (Jack Ma)
Thanks to my mother, I got to know the civil sector as a child: I volunteered at the Large Families Association of Debrecen, where I was head of the Youth section. I continued my university studies at ELTE and Pázmány Péter Catholic University in international relations, specialising in European Studies and Cultural Diplomacy. During my university years I was a member of a student organisation whose aim was to inform young people in particular authentically about the European Union and help dispel misconceptions about it. As part of this I held interactive EU lessons in secondary schools. I took part in numerous domestic and international projects in which I got to know the innovative and highly effective methods of non-formal education. That was when it occurred to me that I would like to do this professionally. As an international project manager I was able to hold various workshops and trainings for young people. The participants' enthusiasm and feedback confirmed that the non-formal development of young people is my path. To fulfil myself as a youth trainer too, I completed the ten-month SALTO Training of Trainers course, then applied for the mental health specialist further training at the University of Debrecen. My traineeship at the European Parliament in Brussels, my Erasmus study scholarship semester in Finland, and various EU youth programmes – including international youth exchanges and trainings – shaped me a great deal. Thanks to these experiences I developed an open and empathetic outlook, I feel comfortable in a multicultural environment, and I speak both English and Spanish at an advanced level.
"Whether you think you can or you think you can't, in the end you'll be right." (Henry Ford)
I came to KÖZ-Pont from Săcueni (Romania) as an international volunteer. I studied Roman Catholic theology at the Szent László Roman Catholic Theological Lyceum in Oradea. Already as a secondary school student, community work played an important role in my life: for three years I served as student council president, and I also took an active part in the work of several charitable and youth groups. Music, drama, ballroom dancing, reading and watching series are my element. I consider myself an open, helpful person, I like meeting new people, and it gives me joy to bring a little humour and cheerfulness into everyday life. My family and friends are very important to me, so I prefer to spend my free time with them.
