The Panyola Outdoor Training was held again this year

The 13th Outdoor Training for youth leaders took place in Panyola from July 29 to August 1, 2024.

The Outdoor Training is the third of the four main annual trainings we hold for student council leaders. The goal of this training is to help young leaders develop both personally and in their student council work, applying what they learned during the kick-off training and the Student Academy.

On the preparation day, the focus was on setting everything up: organizers visited the locations, surveyed the area, and determined where the tasks could be safely completed and which parts best fit the theme of this year’s training.

The first day was dedicated to getting to know each other through playful activities, as over 50 participants, including organizers and attendees, were present. The next day, the 25-hour challenge began. During this time, the teams had to rely on themselves and each other. They had to complete seven tasks, secure their own food, and find shelter. Each team was given a phone and was required to check in with the organizers every hour. This year’s outdoor theme was based on luck, misfortune, and superstitions, fitting for our 13th outdoor training. The theme offered numerous opportunities for creating quality tasks and creative solutions from the teams. The youth leaders completed their tasks in great harmony, and when faced with difficulties, they encouraged each other. When they couldn’t solve a task, they accepted and processed it, but kept moving forward—just as they will need to do in many real-life situations. Naturally, after the major challenges, there was a celebration and debriefing.

The outdoor training method is an excellent opportunity for young people to step out of their comfort zones and solve tasks together with their teammates in unexpected situations. This helps them develop their communication, teamwork, time management, and project management skills.

Our outdoor training is provided free of charge to all our youth leadership members, as we want everyone to equally benefit from this life-changing experience.

Congratulations to all the participants! Thank you for being part of this unforgettable adventure!
