First Session of the MentorOK Project

Last Tuesday, we held the first session of our latest project, "MentorOK," at the Szent József Kindergarten, Primary School, Gymnasium, and Dormitory in Debrecen.

This initial session was an introductory meeting to present the program and its goals. The main aim of the project is to expand high school students’ knowledge of the working world, doing so authentically by involving current market participants.

So, what does this mean in practice?

The young participants will attend group mentoring sessions led by company employees and entrepreneurs, who our association will prepare for this role. These sessions are not one-way lectures; instead, they will involve direct conversations aimed at the individual development of the young people. Another important element of the project is quite special: the students will experience real workplace situations through role-playing exercises using drama pedagogy methods. For this, we will be assisted by our valued partner, the Association of Alternative Communities.

Three schools in Debrecen will participate in the program: Szent József Kindergarten, Primary School, Gymnasium, and Dormitory; Medgyessy Ferenc Gymnasium and Art Vocational School; and the Debrecen Magiszter Foundation Gymnasium.
