Exciting Programs at the Hungarian-Irish Youth Exchange
The past few days have been full of exciting and interesting professional and leisure activities for the Hungarian and Irish youth.
Our Hungarian-Irish youth exchange is taking place in Debrecen from August 25-31, under the title "Sustainable Futures." It is an Erasmus+ project organized by our association and Cloyne Diocesan Youth Services.
The project explores the topics of sustainability and environmental protection, with a particular focus on fashion and architecture.
During the exchange, participants took part in professional workshops, where they learned about Youthpass and explored the themes of environmental protection and sustainability, especially in relation to fashion and architecture, through various interactive and creative tasks and exercises.
In addition to the professional work, a wide range of leisure activities awaited—and continues to await—the youth throughout the week. In the past few days, they had the chance to explore the city of Debrecen, visiting key landmarks and sights, such as the Debrecen Reformed College and the Great Reformed Church.
Moreover, on Monday and Wednesday, the participants had the opportunity to learn more about each other's cultures during the Hungarian and Irish evenings. These events featured joint dancing, tastings of culinary specialties, where the Irish youth got to try treats like "túró rudi" and chimney cake. Meanwhile, our Hungarian youth prepared folk tales, presentations on Hungarian inventions, and a whip-cracking demonstration for the Hungarian evening.
The joint work continues today and tomorrow!
We’ll be sharing a more detailed summary of the programs soon, but in the meantime, follow us on our Facebook page! https://www.facebook.com/kozpontegyesulet
